I use the Windows 7 Basic theme (don’t care for Aero). and sometimes they always look hovered, especially the focused app. The next one is disabling or at least editing the light effects on the taskbar. Be sure to check the box below, 'Replace owner on subcontainers and folders' so all files within the folder will inherit the changes (only if you are changing the permissions on a folder). Go to Security > Advanced > Owner and highlight the user account on your machine that you would like to take ownership of these files/folders. I spent a fair amount of time searching and going through forums and it seems as if there isn’t a good fix. Right-click the file/folder you are trying to access, go to Properties. Refreshing the desktop does the trick to lose them, but it’s quite annoying to do it every time. The first is icons remaining on the desktop after being deleted. I have 2 issues with Windows 7 that I could use help with and one of them, if you can figure it out would make for a great article (perhaps you covered it). I’ve used Unlocker for a while now, and it does start a bit slow even though the Unlocker Assistant is always running (only 608K of RAM), but it works well and I don’t expect anything to be instant anyway. I’m the only user so my issues are with deleting files sometimes.
